Quick Tips on Writing a Book Summary

Writing a book summary does not have to be difficult, as long as one sticks to writing in a concise but informative manner regarding the summary of key points found in the book. Start by reading the book thoroughly and writing down the main characters and their brief descriptions. Draft explanations of the plot and setting along with introducing the major conflict found at the beginning and how it affected the characters throughout the course of the story. Grab key moments and put them into a chronological sequence to not confuse the reader. End with a resolution that concludes the story, including the ending events but avoid providing all the details for the purpose of persuading your reader to actually read the entire book or novel. After finishing your work, edit, revise and make any corrections if found. In order to appreciate a good summary, read examples found on the internet. How to Publish a Book – the Book Cover

Good books need good covers? I am wondering if this is still true. We are seeing more people turning to buying their books online and book shops are closing. A great looking book cover to catch people’s attention and stand out from other books was vital in a bookstore. Watch how people browse for books. They will look in the section that interests them and then books get selected on the shelves by the cover that looks attractive or compelling. Remember the days of Vinyl Records? We did the same thing then and in fact record art became as important as the music!

Now we are buying more from online bookstores which do not give the same browsing experience. You cannot look along a row of books to see what catches your eye for colour of image. It is now far more based on reviews and recommendations. So if you want to publish a book don’t waste too much time or money on the cover. Instead spend your effort on the content and getting people to review and recommend your book.
